First New Years With Owner
New Years, I still don’t understand it. People either go out somewhere and don’t come back until the wee morning hours or they stay home and chill in front of the TV watching New Years’ shows. What’s so big about it? Too me it is another day like all the others. Well, I got my first glimpse of New Years. My owner took me over their grandma’s house early. They had dinner and relaxed. My owner took me outside to my business and little later. I also got a snack by performing a few tricks I was starting to learn. The simple sit and lay down. By eight o’clock it looked like it was time to go. So, I gave my owner the nudge. But, they said it wasn’t time to go and we had to wait till after twelve. So, I just went to my spot and lay down, sighing. This was going to be a long evening. The TV show had someone talking about a ball and it was going to drop at the count of 10. Before I knew it was eleven. The family was getting a little more excited. Hats were put on. Very loud blowing things that honked were blown and drinks serve. My owner brought me back up from under grandma’s desk. Placed a hat on my head. I was not impress at first. But, future ones I have learned to tolerate the New Years’ outfits. My owner had me look at TV and we watched the ball dropped. I like said I didn’t see what all the fuss was about. There was excitement, kissing, toasting. My owner hugged me and gave me a kiss on snout. Then it was all over. My owner said it was time to go. We left grandma’s house and headed home. Like I said I didn’t see why this holiday was important. But, I soon found out we celebrated many more beside the Christmas and New Years. The feature picture is one of my later New Years’ one.
